We are currently seeking an experienced Permanent Captain for a 30m+ Motor Yacht currently undergoing an extensive shipyard period in Turkey. The vessel is temporarily out of the water as part of a significant refit and prior to its sale. The successful candidate will oversee the maintenance and running of the yacht during this period, coordinating closely with the shipyard and contractors to ensure a smooth and efficient process. This role is based in Turkey, with the Captain living ashore, facilitating clear communication and supervision throughout the shipyard works. You will be responsible for leading a team of three crew members, maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and operational efficiency, and ensuring all paperwork and documentation are meticulously managed. This is a hands-on role requiring an attentive and proactive approach, with a focus on detailed execution and effective communication with all stakeholders involved.
Start Date: End of August 2026
Candidate requirements:
- Master 200GT or Higher
- Valid STCW and ENG1
- Previous experience as a Captain
- Experience managing vessel refit or in an extensive shipyard period
- Strong communication skills, especially with shipyard personnel and contractors
- Hands-on approach with excellent leadership capabilities
- Detail-oriented with a focus on safety and maintenance standards
- Good organisational skills, with the ability to handle paperwork and documentation efficiently
- Happy to live ashore in Turkey during the vessel’s yard period
- Ability to work independently and communicate effectively across teams
Package:
- Salary: €8,000 - 9,000pcm - DOE
- Leave: 5 days paid leave per month
