We are currently seeking a Full Time Captain to join a 35m+ Private / Charter Motor Yacht.
We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Permanent Captain on a 35m Motor Yacht, primarily operating within Europe. The vessel, which is over 20 years old but has been meticulously maintained, offers an excellent opportunity for a dedicated professional aiming to advance their yachting career, the owner is open to having an up and coming Captain take the helm or a Chief Officer with the correct tickets stepping up for their first drive. The role involves overseeing a well-trained crew of six during the summer season and 4 during the winters, and managing the operational and safety aspects of a commercially registered yacht. The ideal candidate will have proven leadership skills, hands-on experience in similar-sized vessels, and a strong understanding of all yacht systems and maintenance protocols. As the vessel will be fully chartered during the summer season with light owners use, the captain must be flexible, organised, and client-focused. The vessel is open to suggestions for winter birthing to allow the Captain to have the vessel based close to there residence.
This vessel is part of a small fleet of 5 yachts owned by the same client, so progression in size is a possibility in the near future.
Start Date: Mid to end of September 2026
Candidate requirements:
- Master 500GT or Higher
- ENG1 and STCW up to date
- Proven experience as a Captain on similar-sized yachts or a Chief Officer with good longevity and experience
- Strong understanding of vessel maintenance and safety protocols
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Commercially registered vessel experience preferred
- Flexible regarding start date and willing to manage seasonal operations
- Fluent in English
Package:
- Salary: €7,000 - 8,000pcm
- Leave: 44 days paid leave per year
