We are seeking a Rotational Chief Engineer to join a 40m+ Single season Private/Charter Motor Yacht.

 

We are actively seeking a Permanent Rotational Chief Engineer to join an exciting single-season Private/Charter vessel that is based in Europe, this role offers an excellent opportunity for a hands-on professional to oversee the technical management and maintenance of the vessel on a 2:2 rotation. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of safety, reliability, and performance across all onboard systems. Their proactive approach, leadership skills, and ability to work with the crew are crucial to maintaining operational excellence on this private/charter vessel during the Mediterranean season. The role demands a capable engineer who can efficiently manage technical paperwork, oversee vessel systems, and contribute across all areas of the yacht’s operation when necessary, all while being mindful of costs and regulatory compliance. The vessel will be based in Italy through the winter periods and the Chief Engineer will oversea all maintenance e and shipyard works. With a Crew of 8, you will play a vital role to ensure the crew moral is maintained and from time to time assist in other departments when nessessary.

Candidate requirements:

 

  • Experience as a Chief Engineer
  • Coc - Y3 certification
  • Valid STCW and ENG1 medical certificate
  • Proven ability to oversee maintenance and manage shipyard periods
  • Strong understanding of safety procedures and regulatory requirements
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Flexible, adaptable to varied operational environments and emergency situations
  • Hands-on approach, capable of working well within a small team and across all departments
  • Experience maintaining PMS systems is essential

  • Salary €8,000 pcm
